What about Jesus?

Pastor Maury Davis Jesus Christ said, "In Me you can have Peace…in the world, you will have tribulation." The master made some incredible claims and most of them dealt with desires most people have.

As I read and study, I always find quotes about how to achieve something Jesus has already promised. I love the writings and quotations of Sir Winston Churchill. He once said, “After lunch, sleep a while; after dinner, walk a mile.” His whole point was to learn to take life at a little slower and healthier pace. Why did he have to say that? I believe it is because we are so achievement-oriented, we burn ourselves out acquiring things that don’t matter at the expense of things that do.

We live in a world of causes. There are so many colored ribbons, bracelets, and pins; I cannot recall which ones are for soldiers, cancers, MS victims, aids patients, or a host of others. We have the PETA people giving their lives to save animals as they try to convince the rest of us that animals are as important as people. Yet, when life is over and death comes near, all those achievements will not give you peace. Spending your life to save goldfish will not give you peace with God who is waiting for a decision on His Son's sacrifice for you.

The question that is the door to the desires of your heart is "What about Jesus?" Are you sitting at the Master's feet and learning from His heart? Have you committed your life to an eternal cause...that’s where you find Peace that lasts. Go ahead and be compassionate and caring, but for your sake, move on up to being saved by God’s grace!
