No Hyphen in This American
Recently in our great nation, we are fighting the battle of illegal immigration. No one I know of argues that immigration should not continue…but, we must know those who have come across our borders and approve of their blending into the American landscape.
I, personally, had a problem on Monday, May 1, when my cleaners could not deliver my cleaning because their Hispanic employees refused to work that day. I am convinced that most Americans, while very sympathetic to others, felt like that day was an in-your-face day for illegal immigrants. I think we need to remember what America was intended to be…a melting pot into one Bible-based culture. We were never intended to have cultural diversity as our primary identification. We were intended by the founding fathers who birthed this Republic to buy into the American way of life. Our language is English, our prosperity is legendary, our work ethic is scripturally based and our nation is the greatest in earth’s history.
Let me share the hard truth…our culture based on Judeo-Christian foundations has surpassed the world. Does it not make sense to understand others want a piece of the American Dream? Yet, we must demand if they want the American Dream, they must become Americans. The culture of Mexico is corrupt and will not help this country. Lay your flags down and pick up Old Glory. Lay your language down and embrace ours. Stop trying to be Mexicans in America…become part of the dream, not sponges off of it. I feel the same way about any hyphenated additions...African-American…Arabic-American…Chinese-American…stop it! Either join up or you will always stand on the edge of what could have been. If you want to maintain the dream, stop fracturing the society this culture has created. Stop attacking the God who gave the dream! You are welcome here…not to change us, but to join us!
Red-blooded, patriotic Americans love articles like this. As a pastor, I go far beyond a love for my country…I go to a love for Christ.
I was accepted into Citizenship in Heaven by believing in Jesus, repenting of my sins and confessing Christ as Lord. I joined the ranks of those who call themselves Christian. Yet, I find we do the same things to the culture of Christianity that illegal immigrants do to America. We want to bring our ways, our thoughts, and our will into a Kingdom that is loving, merciful, patient, and yet, requires us to change our ways, thoughts, and actions to truly enjoy its benefits. So, to the illegals, step back and think about how you can add to our great country, not take from it. Buy into our culture or go home. To the Christian, God says the same. thing in God talk…Be ye holy…seek first the kingdom…crucify the flesh… not your will…either buy into the Bible and its truth or be punished for disobedience!
If you try to get into heaven illegally, you will not be grandfathered in, you will be treated like a thief and a robber. Let’s get it right, saints!
I hope to see you in church. You will find the truth there!
